Add colorful buttons to the surface of a design or doodles by simply using hot glue (or your favorite craft glue).
Scraps of fabric make a great simple embellishment- cut out shapes or even cover the entire surface in fabric.
Remember those pom poms and all the ways you can use them- well here is another! Add a small pom pom to the surface of your tag!
I love using small pieces of greenery and gluing them to the surface of my tags- wait a day before you are ready to give your gift before cutting the greenery- this will keep it fresh!
Colorful embroidery floss, thread, yarn or twine is a simple way to transform a tag. Glue the end of the floss to the back of the tag and then wrap with different colors.
A few colorful beads are a simple way to add come color to a tag- glue or even hand sew the beads to the surface of the tag. They also make a great embellishment for tags with layers of painted color!
Messy drips might be my favorite way to transform a tag. Used watered down acrylic paint or watercolor, swipe your brush across the top and then let the paint drip down.
Drips make a great background for adding text or doodles over the top.
Splatter is another great way to add messy color to a tag!
Use your tag as a way to wrap or display jewelry. A little tag with a pair of earrings attached makes a great stocking stuffer or gift topper.
Remember my post about bead and baubles? Another way to use mismatched earrings, bead and brooches it to glue them to the surface of a tag!
Use your favorite pens and markers to journal all over a tag!
A simple little doodle is a fun way to give a little piece of you! Don't be too concerned about anything looking perfect, instead just have fun adding a homemade artful touch.
Bits and pieces of doilies and lace are great to add to the surface of a darker colored tag.
Small things found from nature (shells, pine cones, moss, feathers) make great embellishments for a tag.
Yarn can be wrapped and manipulated into all kinds of different things. Use a little glue to add yarn shapes to the surface of your tag.
Pattern from wrapping paper or fabric is great to cut out and then add to the surface of a tag. I used pattern from the paper that I made from my doodles and cut out the little flowers and layered them on the surface of my tag.
Starting with paint and then adding layers of stamps is wonderful way to create a messy and artful tag.
I love the snowflake pattern made with puff paint. I used the idea on felt for one of my outdoor pillows on the front porch. It looks great! Thanks.
